Choose Regular width for most feet and Narrow width for slimmer ones, around 80–90% of Australians fit Regular width. If your toes touch the edge of the Birkenstock footbed, they’re too small; if your foot slips or gaps appear, they’re too big. There should be about 5mm of space at the toe and heel. If you’re between sizes, go up a size.Â
New Birkenstocks need a short break-in period. If you are a first-time wearer, you should take it slow, your feet may not be used to this much support. Straps should feel secure but comfy, you should be able to fit two fingers under each strap.
